Smart solutions TM at the GEF-UNDP/OSCE project.

During the mission, water professionals engaged in crucial meetings with experts in water policy, coordinated by the Office of the Coordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities.
Key participants included representatives from: The State Agency of Water Resources of Ukraine, JSC "Ukrhydroenergo", The Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Moldova, The Embassy of Sweden in the Republic of Moldova, The Ministry of Environment of Moldova, The National Company "Apele Moldovei", The Ministry of Health of Moldova, Ukrainian Water Association (UWA).
The event also brought together academic and research institutions, such as the Institute of Ecology and Geography of the National University of Moldova, the Institute of Hydrobiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, West Ukrainian National University, and the Institute of Forestry of Moldova.
Significant contributions were also made by representatives from prominent international organizations, including: Austrian Development Agency, Green Transition / European Union (EU4Green Recovery East project), Environmental Division (UNECE), Climate Change, Environment and Energy (UNDP), OSCE Mission to Moldova, OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities, Environmental Programme OSCE.
The workshop provided a comprehensive overview of the project's objectives, scope, and strategy. Discussions focused on outlining stakeholder roles and participation, exploring regional connections, and presenting the detailed work plan, team responsibilities, and key project frameworks and documents.
The overarching goal of the GEF-UNDP/OSCE project is to advance Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in the Dniester River Basin. This initiative will contribute to sustainable development by supporting the implementation of priority measures outlined in the Strategic Action Programme (SAP). The project's components are meticulously aligned with the strategic directions defined in the SAP, each addressing a specific area to ensure effective contribution to SAP implementation and the achievement of corresponding results. This structured approach also facilitates seamless monitoring and evaluation of progress throughout the project's duration.
